Higuita is a tenacious defensive midfielder entering his fifth season with Orlando City. The 25-year-old earned a regular spot in the Lions' midfield in 2018, making 18 starts in 21 appearances and scoring a career-high four goals.

OUTSIDE MLS: Born and raised in Cali, Higuita spent four seasons in Colombia's top division. 

​INTERNATIONAL: At the international level, the defensive midfielder has been a constant within Colombia's youth ranks, featuring for the Under-17 and U-20 teams. Higuita was part of the Colombia squad that won the 2013 South American Youth Championship title and qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, although he played just one game due to injury.
