Vancouver Whitecaps sign Deybi Flores to 5-year deal, according to Honduran reports

The Vancouver Whitecaps have locked up midfielder Deybi Flores, according to reports out of Honduras.


The 19-year-old Honduran international spent 2015 on loan to Vancouver from Honduran club Motagua. Honduran media reported on Monday that the two clubs have agreed to a permanent transferfor Flores, with the ‘Caps reportedly signing the midfielder to a five-year contract.



Flores made nine MLS appearances for Vancouver last year, starting five league matches. He made an additional six appearances in CONCACAF Champions League and Amway Canadian Championship contests, totaling 15 across all competitions.


The rangy midfielder started all three of Honduras’ matches at the 2015 Under-20 World Cup and was called up last weekby the Honduras senior team for Thursday's friendly against Cuba.
