Minnesota United's lengthy pursuit of Boca Juniors attacking midfielder Emanuel Reynoso is finally nearing completion, according to a report from Cesar Luis Merlo of Argentina-based TyC Sports.

The two clubs have agreed to terms, according to Merlo, and all that's left is for the 24-year-old Reynoso to sign a five-year contract with the Loons, giving the club its long-prized midfield creator.

Reports connecting the two parties first surfaced in February. During the MLS is Back Tournament, Minnesota manager Adrian Heath conceded the club were still attempting to bring in the No. 10, but would have to move on if a deal couldn't be reached soon.

After beginning his pro career at Talleres de Cordoba, Reynoso moved on Boca to appear 66 times in all competitions for the storied side. He has made the plurality of his appearances in attacking midfield, but also has significant experience on the left flank or as a No. 8.

That flexibility will be welcome for Heath, who has his deepest selection of options for his front four since beginning with the Loons as an expansion side in 2017. They include forwards Luis Amarilla, Mason Toye and Aaron Schoenfeld as well as attacking midfielder Kevin Molino.

Minnesota resume their regular season on Aug. 21 at home against Sporting Kansas City (7:30 pm ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in the US and on DAZN in Canada).
