The Montreal Impact won a 2015 Boomerang grand prize on Thursday, for their "Marquons L'Histoire" (Let's Make History) website.

The award, in the website or application - event category, gives recognition to the website, which hyped up and celebrated the Impact's run to the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League final in the spring. A multimedia experience that used comic book elements to build the anticipation, it is impressive to view, and was created in collaboration with Deux Huit Huit web and design agency. Illustrator Jimmy Vong also won a grand prize artisan award for his work on the website.

“We are proud to have put in place a very successful website that became much more than a simple page. The site quickly became a slogan for our Champions League run, being adopted by the supporters, the team and the media,” said Montreal Impact Director of Communications Patrick Vallée in an article on the Impact website. “I particularly want to acknowledge the work done by my team, including co-author David Fuenzalida, as well as the collaboration of Deux Huit Huit, with Caroline Couture and Alex Leduc, who swiftly understood where we wanted to go with this project, while delivering a website in record time, but also for making us discover an outstanding illustrator.”

If you haven't had a chance to check out the website, do it. You won't be disappointed.
