The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued one suspension and two fines following Week 19 of the 2020 MLS regular season.


Gonzalez Pirez simulation/embellishment

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found Inter Miami defender Leandro Gonzalez Pirez guilty of simulation/embellishment and fined him an undisclosed amount. The incident took place in second-half stoppage time of Miami's game against the Montreal Impact on Oct. 17.


Stam entering the field of play

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined FC Cincinnati coach Jaap Stam an undisclosed amount after finding him in violation of the league's policy regarding entering the field of play. The incident took place in the 43rd minute of Cincinnati's match against D.C. United on Oct. 18.


Lundkvist serious foul play on Dotson

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Houston Dynamo defender Adam Lundkvist for two matches and fined him an undisclosed amount for serious foul play. The incident took place in the 8th minute of Houston’s match against Minnesota United FC on Oct. 18. Lundkvist will serve his suspensions during Houston’s matches on Oct. 24 against the Columbus Crew and on Oct. 28 against LAFC.


The play was reviewed under Disciplinary Committee Parameter #3, in which the Disciplinary Committee may act where the Professional Referees Organization (PRO) acknowledges an on-field referee or Video Review error, and where the Committee is unanimous that the play warrants at least a one-match suspension as a clear and unequivocal red card, is egregious and/or repeat behavior in nature, and/or the Committee must act to protect player safety or the integrity of the game.
