Steven Gerrard is an LA Galaxy player now.

And all of Liverpool was reminded of that fact on Monday morning when they woke up to a full-page ad in the Liverpool Echo newspaper (see image below).

Monday also happens to be the 10-year anniversary of the day Gerrard carried Liverpool to an epic UEFA Champions League triumph, coming all the way back from 3-0 down at halftime against AC Milan. And the Galaxy honored their new star and his most celebrated victory all in one shot.

“The LA Galaxy have a great deal of respect and admiration for Steven Gerrard and Liverpool FC," the club said in a statement to MLSsoccer.com. "The full page ad was taken out in Monday’s edition of the Liverpool Echo as a way of honoring Liverpool’s Champions League Final win in Istanbul 10 years ago today and as a thank you to the city of Liverpool, Liverpool FC and Gerrard for allowing the Galaxy to carry on that legacy.”

Gerrard played his final match for Liverpool on Sunday, scoring the club's final goal in a 6-1 rout at the hands of Stoke City and is set to officially join the defending MLS Cup champions in July.
